Leadership Council

The BCH Ambassadors Leadership Council is comprised entirely of volunteers. Council members are recruited from within the organization as well as the community at large, and are responsible for the leadership of the Ambassadors organization.

I've lived in the Boulder area for about 45 years. I'm a former elementary school teacher for 34 years (teaching my full career at Mesa Elementary). Since retiring I enjoy volunteering with a number of organizations, traveling with my husband, reading, and just hanging out.
As a Boulder native, volunteering and BCH have been a large part of my life. I was born at BCH, started my volunteer journey at BCH as a Candy Striper while in junior high, and then again with the PT dept. while in college at CU.

While raising my two daughters in Boulder, I volunteered at their schools in various capacities including PTO president at the middle school and high school level.
Once my husband and I became empty nesters, I wanted to get back into volunteering at BCH. I began by assisting with the registration needs for the annual BCH Fashion Show. This then led to my committing to be on the Scholarship committee. I have been part of this committee for the past 10 years and have enjoyed all aspects of BCHA.

I missed the constant activity of a hospital after retirement and began service volunteer work at BCH in October 2014. I was honored that I was encouraged to join the Leadership Council of the BCH Ambassadors and look forward to any opportunity to be of service.

Diana Doner

Diana Doner

I was born, raised and educated in Ohio, primarily living and working in the Cleveland area. I moved to San Jose California in 2007 then retired to Colorado in 2014. I worked for 47 years as a Registered Nurse with the last 25 years spent in various roles in hospital and nursing administration. During my working years, I obtained several college degrees and professional certifications but I also volunteered on non-profit agency boards, serving meals for families in need, Girl Scouts, and many other organizations.

After I retired, I wanted to volunteer in the community since I now had the time. A friend asked me to help with decorations at the BCHA 2015 Holiday Extravaganza, and I knew immediately I had found my volunteer home. The energy and support of the volunteers is amazing and BCHA supports causes I embrace. I feel fortunate to have found the BCH Ambassadors!

I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, but I have always considered Boulder to be my home. I lived here during the 1980's and 1990's working for several higher education organizations. Following my retirement in 2014, I moved back to Boulder. I wanted to volunteer in the BCH Foothills Gift Shop since I had owned and operated a small women's clothing boutique for a few years. After a few months, I was asked to help with the Gift Shop management and to join the BCHA Leadership team. I am excited to be a part of an amazing organization and to work with hard-working and energetic volunteers!

Pat Dimond

Pat Dimond

Pat Dimond, Director of Volunteer Services, was born and raised in Leavenworth, Kansas, and is a graduate of Kansas State University. She moved to Boulder in 1975 and started working at Boulder Community Hospital four years later. Pat became active in volunteer services management in 1991 and assumed the position of director in 1995. In her busy role, she oversees more than 500 active volunteers and serves as hospital liaison with the BCH Ambassadors.

Pat is a member of Colorado Healthcare Directors of Volunteer Service and the Association of Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals. Volunteer Services, the national professional group. She has served as President of CHDVS and was featured in the AHVRP national newsletter. She earned her Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services (CAVS) certification in 2009.

Pat is married to her college sweetheart, Dave, who also works for BCH. They have three adult children, a cat, dog and granddog. Pat’s free-time passion is genealogy. She also loves history, landscape photography and walking on local trails.
I support BCH’s Ambassadors because of all the good they do for both the hospital and the community.

I was born in San Francisco and moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado. I never looked back. Of course, it helped that I met my husband and he is from Boulder. I have been married over 30 years and raised two boys. I have worked at the hospital for over 11 years, the first 8 years were spent I Human Resources. I have been the Volunteer Coordinator since 2009.
